Headteacher's Welcome Message

Welcome to Broomhill First School!

I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher of such a happy, nurturing and inclusive school, that is situated within the warm and caring community of North Broomhill.

At Broomhill, we nurture hearts and minds. Staff, pupils, parents, governors and the local community all work together to value each other, embrace differences and celebrate individuality. We believe that every child deserves to live a life of choice and opportunity and, through excellent teaching and learning, we instil each of our pupils with the skills, values, attitudes and knowledge that they need to flourish.

As a school we are forward thinking and always looking for ways to improve through professional development, learning from best practice and partnership collaboration. We make time to reflect on what we do so that we are continually improving outcomes for our children. Through our core values of connection, courage, curiosity and creativity, we develop our pupils holistically, and we place an equal importance on personal development and academic achievement. Our focus is on meeting the individual needs of every child to ensure they develop the skills they need to reach their full potential and be ready for the next stage of their education. We encourage parents and carers to be involved in their children’s learning as much as possible, and to work in partnership with us for the benefit of their children. We are lucky to have an enthusiastic Friends Committee, the Friends of Broomhill, who work hard to raise funds to enhance the resources and activities we are able to offer our pupils.

We are the very best school at the heart of our community.

I hope you find the information on our website useful, whether you currently have a child at our school or are a prospective parent.  Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you require any further information or would like to arrange a visit to the school.  I would be very pleased to show you around.
