The Friends of Broomhill

Welcome to the Friends of Broomhill’s dedicated page!

The Friends of Broomhill are our PTA (Parents and Teachers Association). As a family at the school, you are automatically part of the Friends of Broomhill, which is run on your behalf by a volunteer committee.

The Friends of Broomhill raise funds to enhance school life through subsidising trips, purchasing or replacing equipment that enriches our curriculum and supporting initiatives such as Forest School Friday. Every penny of we raise is spent on these activities.

To support these fundraising efforts and foster the school’s community, the Friends of Broomhill organises a number of events throughout the year including fetes/fairs, movie nights, scavenger hunts the Easter/Christmas disco and Mother’s and Father’s Day events, where children can purchase small presents for special people in their families.

Friends of Broomhill meet once a half-term in school to discuss upcoming events and talk about how we can all support the school.

The Friends of Broomhill has a Facebook group that can be found by searching ‘Friends of Broomhill First School (Northumberland)’, where we post regular update. PTA news items also feature regularly in the school’s weekly newsletter.

If you can’t commit to regular involvement, please do still consider whether you can volunteer to help at an individual event; these can’t happen without your support. The Friends of Broomhill are always on the lookout for those who can commit some time to an event, whether that is helping with ticket sales, staffing the refreshment stall for an hour, baking, or preparing something at home that we need for the event. If you’d like to know more, please get in touch via Facebook.
