Meet...

Mrs. Ann Gray (Chair of Governors)

I first became involved with Broomhill First School as a parent when my son and then daughter joined nursery over thirty years ago. I enjoyed supporting the school in whatever way I could, being a parent helper or helping out at fundraising activities. I was asked to become a governor a few years later. Before retiring I worked in two local schools as a Teaching Assistant in the classroom and then as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant. These roles fuelled my interest in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the overall benefits of a nurturing ethos in which to enrich the social and emotional wellbeing and educational provision of all children, in an environment where they feel safe, able to learn and thrive as they develop as individuals. I firmly believe that children are our future and, as such, deserve the best ‘school experience’ that we are able to provide.

Mrs. Elizabeth Pink

I have always been interested in children and education. When I was 19, I spent a year in South Africa working in a Primary School. This inspired me to train as a teacher and I have spent the last 15 years teaching children from Reception to Year 6.

I chose Broomhill First School for my son as I was impressed by the school's nurturing environment. Through my role as co-opted governor, I aim to support the school and staff in prioritising a world class curriculum and school experience for all pupils.
